I t wasn't such a long time ago that sleep was considered an activity for wimps. Life's too short, they said in the power-crazed Eighties. "Sleep when you're dead!" Today that just seems ignorant. For our brains, beauty and overall brilliance, there is no substitute for a good night's sleep, and approximately one third of a life well lived should be spent tucked up in bed.
